"T-BONE" COLLISION CAUSES RIGHT KNEE
FRACTURE--$100,000 DAVIDSON COUNTY SETTLEMENT
The plaintiff, 23-year-old married mother, was riding as a passenger in her friend's car along Old Hickory Boulevard near Whites Creek Pike. As the Defendant exited the I-24 East exit ramp, she pulled directly in front of the plaintiff causing a "t-bone" collision. The force of the impact crushed the plaintiff's right knee to such an extent that she suffered a comminuted fracture. She also briefly lost consciousness at the scene. Surgical repair of the knew was highly successful leaving no permanent restrictions or limitations and only a three percent permanent impairment rating. The mild cognitive deficits following the head injury completely resolved within three months of the wreck. However, the surgery left a permanent longitudinal scar. Her medical expenses totaled approximately $25,000, and her lost wages were $2,000. After the parties' depositions, the defendant tendered her policy limits of $100,000 to settle the case.
